Animals love Reiki energy and are highly receptive to any form of energy healing.  They can sense the flow of energy and Reiki has been given successfully to animals especially dogs, cats and horses.  Animals are often more receptive and responsive to Reiki Healing than people and positive results are usually seen in a relatively short period of time. This is not because animals are more sensitive to the flow of Reiki energy, it's more that they have utter faith and are free from the ever questioning voice of the ego which can hinder the healing for some people. Reiki is an effective form of complementary animal healing and when used alongside veterinary treatments can accelerate the healing process, ease pain, and improve, or help to continue, the animal's quality of life.
