Although stress tolerance varies amongst individuals the factors that can induce stress remain similar for most people. If not resolved, stress causes dis - ease / illness and consequently absence from work. Relaxation Therapy
Relaxation Therapy broadly refers to techniques that focus the mind and promote a state of calmness so that the mind and body can be brought into greater harmony to facilitate health and healing. It can involve any of a variety of approaches that use breathing and other techniques to achieve a deep state of relaxation, improve concentration, and to become attuned to ones inner self. Put simply, relaxation therapy is a means of focusing the mind to reduce or to eliminate conscious thought, thus balancing the internal self with the external self.
Entering
a state of deep relaxation allows concentration to achieve a higher
state of consciousness and inner reflection. It has been proven to be
highly effective in stress management and in overcomingpsychological
crises. When practiced regularly it is a very helpful tool to assist in
improving health, wellbeing, relationships and quality of life.
I recently facilitated a regular lunchtime relaxation group just once a week, in a workplace within the City of Edinburgh Council. Feedback from those who attended, following just 8 weekly sessions indicated the following levels of improvement:

can be hired for a minimum period of 1 hour – 1 Relaxation Group plus
setting up time and down time, up to a full day. A full day would enable
